Flight Attendant Instructor

The Flight Attendant Instructor shall work in collaboration with the Manager, Inflight Services to assist with coordination and planning of Flight Attendant Training in accordance with Transport Canada regulatory requirements enabling Flight Attendants to perform their duties safely and efficiently.

What does a Flight Attendant Instructor do?

Course Delivery / Training Facilitation

  • Under supervision of the Manager, Inflight Services the Flight Attendant Instructor shall facilitate and deliver Initial, annual, and ongoing training in accordance with TP 12296E Flight Attendant Training Standard
  • Working with the Manager, Inflight Services, assist with development, revisions and streamlining training materials.
  • Mentoring new trainees and supporting ongoing development for all members of the Inflight Services Department
  • Monitor and ensure continuous compliance with Flight Attendant Standard best practices and skills.
  • Present performance or safety concerns to the Manager, Inflight Services
  • Reserve, prepare and coordinate equipment, classroom, hangar, and aircraft availability for training requirements.

Program Development

  • Collaborate with the Manager, In-Flight Services and Training and Development manager to enhance and revise existing programs.
  • Work with the Manager, Inflight Services to implement annual updates and revisions to training programs in accordance with TP 12296E Flight Attendant Training Standards
  • The Training Coordinator is encouraged to bring forward suggested enhancements to improve overall skill development of the Inflight Services Department

Administration

  • Prior to deployment, ensure Flight Attendants are adequately trained. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for training prior to deployment as per Transport Canada, Client, and Voyageur Aviation standards.
  • Collaborate with Manager, Inflight Services with administration of training expiration tracking, and development of on training schedules to facilitate ongoing deployments.
  • Prepare documentation for Flight Attendant training,
  • Maintain spreadsheets, Learning Management System documents and track Flight Attendant client required training where applicable. Previous experience is required however, we encourage all individuals to apply who may have transferable skills in the following: flight attendant, airline, cabin crew.

What you bring to the table

  • Minimum of 5 years of previous experience in a similar role
  • Transport Canada Flight Attendant Certification
  • Post-secondary diploma in Adult Education is considered an asset.
  • Curriculum development is considered as asset.
  • Flight Safety and/or Flight Attendant Training considered an asset.
  • Instructional and presentation experience
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven ability to interact and train individuals at all levels within an organization.
  • High level of computer literacy

  • You will work out of our North Bay head office. Depending on the nature of the role, we have implemented Remote and Hybrid Work Models; to learn more, speak to your recruiter.

  • Possibility of working outside of local base depending upon schedule and operational requirements.
